Road Traffic

 Mekelle University, College of Social Sciences and Language, Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, hosted a one-day workshop on "Enhancing Road Traffic Safety through the Establishment of Road Traffic Safety Clubs" today, April 24, 2017 EC, at Mekelle University Adihaki Campus. The event brought together stakeholders from educational institutions, transport authorities, and civic society organizations.
The initiative aims to improve road safety behaviors among youth and the general public by establishing dedicated road traffic safety clubs. Participants discussed strategies for implementing traffic safety education in schools and universities, engaging students in awareness campaigns, and fostering community-based road safety initiatives. Experts emphasized the vital role of young people as ambassadors for road safety and highlighted the importance of collaboration between government agencies and local communities.
The workshop concluded with a call to action for institutions to establish and actively support road traffic safety clubs as part of broader efforts to reduce road accidents and save lives.
