EiT-M Certifies 22 Staff in Open edX & Moodle for Enhanced Teaching & Student Assessment.
School of Computing-Led Initiative at EiT-M towards Digital Education and LMS Research Center
The Ethiopian Institute of Technology - Mekelle (EiT-M) has taken a significant stride in advancing its digital education capabilities. A rigorous five-day Digital Learning Capacity Building Initiative, spearheaded by the School of Computing, successfully concluded today, equipping 22 academic staff with vital skills for the future of teaching and learning.
The intensive training focused on two critical pillars:

Computer-Based Testing (CBT) Frameworks & Instructional Design: Staff gained expertise in designing effective online assessments and applying sound instructional principles for digital environments.
Sustainable LMS Adoption: Participants developed practical technical skills in two leading platforms:
Open edX: For creating rich, interactive online course materials.
Moodle: For implementing robust and secure Computer-Based Testing (CBT).
This initiative directly addresses EiT-M's strategic priorities for enhancing educational delivery.
The certification of these 22 staff members creates a core team of experts capable of driving the adoption of these technologies across the institute, fostering a more dynamic and flexible learning experience for students.
The Scientific Director of EiT-M, Dr. Hadush Goitom, emphasized the initiative's importance during the closing ceremony, stating, "This training represents a key priority for our university and EiT-M specifically. We are incredibly encouraged by the dedication of the participants and anticipate a highly promising future impact on our educational quality through their newly acquired expertise in digital learning and assessment."
The School of Computing and EiT-M leadership commend the participants for their commitment and look forward to seeing the practical application of these skills in upcoming semesters, marking a new chapter in EiT-M's digital learning journey.
