Innovative Business Idea Competition held at Mekelle University!
Mekelle University, in partnership with Inivation for Peace (I4), hosted an Innovative Business Idea Competition to empower undergraduates and promote entrepreneurship on 05-07 June 2025. Funded by philanthropist Mr. Asamenew Shimelis from ATI in Addis Ababa, the initiative underscored community support for young talent.
The competition aimed to inspire students to create innovative solutions for societal challenges, peace, fostering critical and strategic thinking about their economic contributions.

Dr. Mulu Aderie, head of Research & Community Engagement-SoM, coordinated the training and competition, ensuring participants received essential guidance. Dr. Hailay G.tensay and Fisehatsion Kebede also played key roles. Student Hiluf Berhe has also promoted the event, boosting participation.
Mr. Hailemichael Tesfay, Dean of the College of Business and Economics, along with his team; Dr. Bihon Kassa and Abraha T.birhan, provided vital support, making the competition impactful. Mr. Ataklty Adugna, representing the office of the university's president, added excitement to the awards ceremony.
