Mekelle university Provides capacity building training for students.

Mekelle University College of dry land Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the Mekelle University Entrepreneurship Center, in collaboration with Ethiopian Educational Network to Support Agricultural Transformation (EENSAT) (EENSAT:https//:www.eensat.org) project conducted an entrepreneurship and mindset training program for 3rd and 4th year of dry land Agriculture and Natural resources students , on February 18, 2018, at Mekelle University. The program aimed to strengthen students’ business and innovation skills.

During the opening remarks, Associate Professor Alemu Areaya, Academic Vice Dean of the College of dry land Agriculture and Natural Resources, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in creating job opportunities and promoting self-reliance among graduates. He also highlighted the university’s commitment to supporting students in developing practical skills alongside their academic studies.

Project Director Dr. Daniel Teka noted that the training is designed as part of the Outreach Component of the project to equip the students with Entrepreneurial Mindset and skill. He further noted that this training is integrated to the ongoing training on "Innovative Technologies in Irrigation Management" delivered to undergraduate students at Water Resource and Irrigation Management (WRIM) Program under Department of Land Resource Management and Environmental Protection (LaRMEP).
