The Department of Theatre Arts at the College of Social Sciences and Languages hosted a Theatre event on June 6th, 2025.
The 4th and 2nd-year students collaboratively produced a full-length play titled "ደመ ነፍስ" (Deme Nefs), which was performed at the Adihaqi Campus Theatre Hall. The play was directed by Selam Gidey, a female student from the 4th-year graduating class, as part of her course fulfillment requirement.

The performance took place in the afternoon, welcoming the university community and invited guests, Mr. Tekalign Gebremichael, Head of the Department, stated that such theatrical events will continue to be staged for audiences in the future. Additionally, the Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Languages, Dr. Tesfalem Gebreyohannes, who represented the President of M.U., acknowledged the efforts of the students and staff involved. Despite challenges related to limited materials, he assured that the college and university management will provide all necessary support to sustain such artistic initiatives.
